I have been much too busy to keep up with the Olympics, 2008 on a daily basis. I have been somewhat informed by friends, co-workers, bloggers, and the online news media about Olympic events. As a result, I became curious to learn more about the Chinese city of Beijing.
Here is a short list of the facts that I learned. It is the capital city of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Also, it is the second largest city in China (Shanghai being the first largest). Beijing is one of four provincial-level cities under the direct control of the Chinese central government. It has the distinction of being a major transportation center.
Please enjoy the beautiful photos of Beijing that I downloaded. No, I wasn't fortunate enough to have traveled there!
